14 Day Challenge: Time to Transform: Day 4

Even without the current global pandemic, it is challenging to transform to create a life and business you love with online communities, real or imposed distractions, and life.

I became a full-time entrepreneur in 2011 and learned the hard way I would need strategy, structure, and systems for all areas of my life, not just my business. As someone who’s practiced a daily 3 X 7 approach in every area of life since 2016, I know a 90-day plan is a clear road map for your life and is more important than ever in 2020.

When you decide it is time to transform, everything changes. In the 14 Day Challenge, Day 1, I shared how transformation is required to create a life and business you love. In the 14 Day Challenge, you will experience 12 themes to create a life and business you love from faith to wellness to money and travel.

Whether you create with our community on the blog, podcast, and/or in the 14 Day Challenge sneak peek to our monthly mastermind, Creation Club, you will experience transformation like never before. On Day 4 of the 14 Day Challenge, it's time to transform.

Time to Transform

Whether you realize it or not, you are taking some type of action daily in your spirit to your financial life. Imagine if you intentionally outlined three actions daily you take in each area.

In your health and wellness, this may include:

  • Replace juice twice daily with water

  • Add in shakes and supplements twice a day

  • Stop buying 1-2 unhealthy items

I didn't get to where I am overnight, neither will you. It is a journey step by step. The time to transform is in every moment as you make choices towards or away from creating a life and business you love. I know it isn't always easy.

I know life will hit you and is hitting many right now.

Be and do the best you can in each moment. Rise again.

In your business/financial life, this may look as simple as:

  • Complete blog & podcast

  • Submit a draft article to Startup

  • Contribute in FB communities

It is more important than ever to simplify every area of life now with aligned actions towards the goals you say you want. What if you shifted with all the time you have now to increase your online contributions with blogs, articles, and communities. I am right there with you step by step in 2020 and beyond.

In fact, as an ambivert, I am loving increased time writing and in online communities. Anyone else?

Regardless, start outlining 3 actions for your business to start. Make sure they are priorities that will help you get the results you want in your business.

In addition, join other FB groups that align with you, your work, and how you may share value and contribute. For example, I am part of >10 communities on wellness, entrepreneurship, marketing, and travel. I recently shared more on this on a post in Better Marketing that got curated.

You can see with these examples how you may take things full circle as well, and prioritize your work for efficiency and effectiveness.

Seven Steps to Success

When I first started working from home or co-working spaces >75% of the time, I realized where I negated other areas of my life.

While there are some businesses that focus on your wellbeing and they are growing, many still do not to your detriment. I feel like 2020 is shifting all of us in many ways to refocus on what really matters.

Consider how you want to shift your physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, relational, playful and financial areas of life. Once you outline some ideas and goals, start thinking about 1–3 actions to take in each area of life to start.

If you are tempted by food like I once was before I lost over 55 lbs >5 years ago and kept it off, stop buying certain things. Start thinking of habits you may change and replace. If you love chips, replace them with tasty rice cakes. Or, create a fun arts and crafts project and a chart with a reward system to involve the family.

I’ve found when I regularly review my daily habits, I quickly see where I am misaligned in any area of life. I regularly use an incredible app — Focus Matrix you may download on your phone to track your habits.

If you are a super nerd like me, you can upgrade for a small fee and track your weekly reports and compare your progress. 2019 was the first full year I used this tool, and now in 2020 I am comparing my output to 2019 and feeling incredible.

In addition, I implemented using Toggl in 2020, along with the Pomodoro method in 25–45-minute segments to help increase my focus and task completion.

Set Up a Morning Routine

When you set up a morning routine for success, you will feel incredible. I started doing this faithfully in 2018 and took it to a new level with 5 am wakeup calls in 2019.

Your morning routine may include:

  • Meditation and prayer

  • Journaling and gratitude

  • Outdoor walks with little ones

  • Bible reading and studies

  • Cuddles with the family

  • Reviewing your day

  • Workouts

  • Listening to something positive

Feel free to constantly modify your routine. I constantly do.

Outline Your Day

Outline your day for success too. You know what is best for you, your family, and when you have the most energy. Once you outline your morning routine, you will immediately see how you already took some actions spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and/or relationally.

Consider if you want to take additional actions in these areas next. Similarly, then outline what you break you want to add in and errands you want to run. Reconsider and evaluate what business and financial actions you will take that day. Allow some time for playtime too!

As I transitioned from being a Corporate executive and side-hustler years ago until 2011 to a full-time entrepreneur, I realized how for years I prioritized only my business goals.

As a result, when I became an entrepreneur, this has taken years of adjusting. I am, and we are always evolving, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Simply start taking aligned action in each area of life for the results you want.

Celebrate each action daily, and reflect on lessons learned. We are all human beings and works in progress.

Celebrate Daily

I started sending myself a celebrate e-mail daily. I literally outline each area from spiritual to financial and list 3 bullets minimum and email it to myself. It shows me I am making progress. After all, isn’t that what any of us may do.

I’ve found if you are really good in one area, or multiple areas, this dominoes into other areas of life. As I grew in my morning routine, my priorities shifted. When I lost weight and had more energy, I finished more daily.

The same will happen to you. Don’t quit on you.

Remember, even though you decided it is time to transform, transformation takes time.

Time to Transform

Whether you always work remotely, are an entrepreneur, or are recently working from home, you will overcome this no different than you have countless other things in life.

Approach it one step and day at a time focusing on 1–3 actions in each area.

If you missed the start of the 14 Day Challenge, let's jump start transformation.

Create. Transform. Inspire.

You Were Born to.
