One Week in and Near La Fortuna, Costa Rica
This is my first time in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. Thanks to Costa Rica, Dragon Fly Hideaway Airbnb, and all the adventures, I know it is not my last.
This is my second time to Costa Rica since 2016 with our transformation and travel retreat in Playa Del Coco. I love experiencing an adventure with Airbnb. Each time I come to Costa Rica, I discover more places to see and adventures to experience.
Although I am staying in Costa Rica for about three months, I love to integrate adventure as I create and scale a life, business and community I love. Whether you are somewhere short or long-term, add in adventure throughout your time. It helps stimulate your spirit and soul to create and scale a life, business and community you love.
Costa Rica Retreat in 2016 near Liberia in Playa Del Coco
My travels in Costa Rica include a focus on adventure , nature and healthy travel If you didn't know, I lost over 55+ lbs 7+ years ago, and I haven't drunk alcohol for over 5 years now. I am healthier than High School.
For my first stay in or near La Fortuna, Costa Rica, I chose Dragon Fly Hideaway Airbnb in Sonafluca, which is about 5 minutes from La Fortuna Waterfall, and about 10 minutes from downtown La Fortuna. It is perfect for peace, tranquility, and for creating content like a boss, I am considering it for a future retreat of ours as well!
Some days, I stayed at the Airbnb the entire day to focus on community, creators, and creatives with media, marketing, business and travel. Other days, I went on an adventure day like Lost Canyon with Desafio. Sometimes, I integrate both adventure and creating a life and business I love in the same day.

La Fortuna, Costa Rica
Let's explore the experiences I recommend for one week in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. In my One Day in La Fortuna, Costa Rica, I share fun facts about the country. Depending on the time you have in La Fortuna, follow or modify your experiences for what works best.
I'm sharing here One Week in La Fortuna. Costa Rica Adventures. I'll be sharing La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Volcano, Lost Canyon, Rio Celeste, and Villas Blessed Farm. Coming up will include how I create and scale a life, business and community I love. In addition, after La Fortuna, Monteverde, and Manuel Antonio are coming up. I'm giving you many reasons you will want to stay longer in Costa Rica!.
Even when I travel, I stay healthy, bring Herbalife Nutrition and workout daily in different ways. Some ways I did that this week included climbing up and down 500+ steps each way with La Fortuna, hiking in Arenal Observatory, and Canyoning in Lost Canyon.
La Fortuna Waterfall
La Fortuna Waterfall is worth the 1000+ steps round trip to see the majestic falls. Although I workout, it felt like 3-5+ leg workouts combined. Shortly, after you begin the climb, you will hear the sounds of La Fortuna Waterfall.

When I visited La Fortuna Waterfall, I saw about 5-10 people buying tickets, and about 30-40 people during my experience. I spent an hour in total at La Fortuna Waterfall.
It is easily doable within an hour to two hours depending on your physical health. I would say La Fortuna Waterfall is one of the Top 10 Activities in La Fortuna, Costa Rica.
Arenal Observatory Lodge & Spa
The easiest way to see amazing views of Arenal Volcano is by visiting Arenal Observatory Lodge and Spa.
They provide a One Day Pass to enter the park. At the time, I paid $12 for the pass. You may spend the day here, or highlights in about two hours. I ended up visiting the deck, nest, and Danta Waterfall while hiking through the park.

I recommend going to the deck first right behind the restaurant. After visiting the deck, you may walk to the nest to get a view of Arenal Volcano above the trees.
The trial starts to the right of the reception area.
The Nest

After climbing down from the Nest, you may hike anywhere from 20 min to about an hour to visit Danta Waterfall nearby.
Lost Canyon with Desafio
For my adventure lovers, you will love a Costa Rica Adventure with Desafio Adventure Company. I went Canyoning and Waterfall Rappelling for the first time with Desafio during my first week in La Fortuna.
It is one of the most exhilarating experiences you will ever have. I rappelled anywhere from 10 feet to 200+ feet canyons and waterfalls. Thanks to my guides, I felt excited and safe all at the same time.

Rio Celeste Waterfall
Last time I came to Costa Rica in 2016, I wanted to go to Rio Celeste. However, I stayed near Liberia in Playa Del Coco, and we did different adventures during our retreat. I knew I wanted to go see the heavenly waterfall during my visit this time.
Rio Celeste not only lived up to, but exceeded its name and reputation.
Photos and words do not do the heavenly experience of Rio Celeste justice.
Villas Blessed
Before coming to Costa Rica, I knew I wanted to have a farm experience with plants, Cocoa, and Coffee. I met Jason through an Airbnb Experience as a private driver on my One Day In La Fortuna.
Not only did I get to practice Spanish the entire time, I learned about Villas Blessed, their family farm donated from the government 30+ years ago. I loved meeting his mom (Dona Zaida) and dad (Don Gerardo).
Every moment of the experience with the farm including the Costa Rican breakfast; learning about plants; tasting vegetables and fruits; and experiencing first hand the processes of producing chocolate, coffee, and milk is amazing!
I loved tasting fresh Sugar Cane juice, dark chocolate, and drinking straight from a coconut among many priceless experiences. I enjoyed spiritual conversations with Jason and his family about God, blessings all around us. and choosing to walk in faith.
I loved spending a half day at Villas Blessed with the incredible farm experience.
We started off the experience with an incredible Costa Rican Breakfast with eggs, Gallo Pinto, and Plantains.
We continued on learning (and tasting) about plants, flowers, vegetables and fruits.

Afterwards, we headed over to learn about Chocolate and Coffee making. We made Chocolate too!
Take Home Dark Chocolate Star Treats
After our delicious Chocolate making experience, we headed over to milk Anna. We not only met Anna, but three new babies about a month old from another mommy cow. One of the babies kept licking my fingers. I must have tasted sweet LOL! I included it in the video of course!
All through the experience, I experienced beautiful moments like the peacock posing.
Drinking straight out of a Coconut - one of my favorite things to do!
I learned incredible stories like Don Gerardo not only surviving a venomous snake bite, but killing the snake too.
The farm felt like family in every way.
